The fifth-grade leadership club from Dickinson Avenue Elementary School in the Northport-East Northport School District recently conducted a fundraiser called Dollars for Dickinson. This fundraiser, however, wasn’t for their school, but for the schools of Dickinson, Texas, where more than 1,000 students and 300 staff members were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The club encouraged each student in the school to bring in at least one dollar to go towards the fund.
A total of $400 was collected, and students were very excited to be able to help others in need this holiday season.
